An alleged MS-13 gang member was sentenced Tuesday to 22 years in prison for the 2016 slaying of an 18-year-old whose mutilated body was found at a Little League complex in Greenlawn. Anthony Gutierrez Meza, 25, avoided the possibility of life in prison when he accepted a plea deal in May moments before his murder trial began. WELLFLEET, Mass. – Wellfleet police are appealing to the public for information after a hit-and-run crash left a man unresponsive and bleeding on Route 6 in Cape Cod Monday night. Around 9:41 p.m. Monday, police received a 911 call reporting a man lying on Route 6 bleeding from the head, police said. When emergency crews arrived, they found the man unresponsive, police said. OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — An Osceola County deputy has been fired after being arrested on domestic violence-related charges, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday. Orlando police arrested Osceola County Deputy Alex Valentin on charges of assault, aggravated assault and false imprisonment, the sheriff’s office said. BOSTON – Nearly $3 million in federal grants have been awarded to 42 Massachusetts school districts to improve school safety, as some state officials say schools face “unprecedented challenges” to ensure an environment of ‘safe learning.
