Parts of Adventureland were evacuated Saturday night when Maleficent, in dragon form, caught fire during a performance of “Fantasmic!” at disneyland Our on-site reporter captured footage of the dragon, still burning, as the show came to an untimely end for safety. Fire fell from the dragon’s mouth onto Tom Sawyer’s island below. Associated Press – Dutchman Joran van der Sloot, the prime suspect in the unsolved disappearance of Alabama student Natalee Holloway will be extradited to the United States. Peru’s government issued an executive order on Wednesday allowing the extradition. The Peruvian Embassy in Washington told The Associated Press that the order allows for the temporary extradition of Dutchman Joran van der Sloot to be prosecuted for alleged extortion and wire fraud, charges stemming from the Holloway case. Holloway’s body was never found and no charges were filed against Van der Sloot in the case. A judge later pronounced Holloway dead. U.S….

BRANFORD, CT (WFSB) – A man is facing charges after trying to break into a home in Branford. Police said it happened around 6:20 Tuesday night on Pawson Road. The homeowner called 911 to report a man trying to break into her home. When officers arrived, they arrested Jay Gilbert Gauvin, 39, of Branford. Police said Gauvin caused extensive damage to the home. “Gauvin was unknown to the homeowner who had a young child at the residence,” Branford police said. No one was injured. Ellensburg High School (EHS) Principal Beau Snow made an announcement to students and parents via email that a lockdown was in progress on May 10 at 1:03 p.m. This was announced after KitCom, a civilian-staffed 911 center, sent a report of an imminent threat at 12:28 p.m. The Ellensburg Police Department (EPD) sent out an announcement on their facebook at 1:08 p.m. stating that as a precaution there would be a continued police presence at EHS for the remainder of the school day.
