Surveillance suspect seen entering Somerset saloon

(WLNE) — The Somerset Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect seen on camera entering a salon Wednesday morning. The attack happened at the CHIC SALON on Wilbur Avenue around 2:45 a.m. The suspect is seen heading towards the cash drawer before being “scared off by the building’s alarm system”. Police said the suspect did not keep any cash. However, significant damage was done to both the window and the door. The suspect used a bicycle to arrive and flee the salon. Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies, including a SWAT team, responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon early Saturday morning. Law enforcement arrived at the Desert Oasis Apartments on Country Club Drive in Palm Desert shortly after 8:00 a.m. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said a victim was walking with his son when the suspect approached him, pistol-whipped him and then threatened him.
