JASON BENETTI CELEBRATED PLAY-BY-PLAY ANNOUNCER JOINS FOX SPORTS<\/p>\n

LOS ANGELES \u2013 Famed play-by-play announcer Jason Benetti is joining FOX Sports in 2022, contributing to the network’s live sports slate beginning with college football this fall. Today’s announcement was made by Brad Zager, President of Production\/Operations and Executive Producer of FOX Sports.<\/p>\n

“Jason is a first-rate broadcaster who elevates every production he joins,” Zager said. “His reputation precedes him and we are excited to add his passion for sports and broadcasting to our lineup starting this fall.”<\/p>\n

Benetti has served as the play-by-play announcer for some of the industry’s biggest events, spanning a variety of sports from college football and basketball to Major League Baseball and Olympic baseball competitions. <\/p>\n

“I’m just thrilled to be joining FOX Sports,” Benetti said. “The company has a reputation for first-class live sports coverage and first-class people behind that coverage. I’m honored to be a part of this team.”<\/p>\n

Since 2016, Benetti has been the voice of the Chicago White Sox, and this season he was named the voice of NBC Sports’ Sunday afternoon MLB package. He also provided play-by-play for the network’s Olympic baseball coverage during the 2020 Summer Games.<\/p>\n

He spent the last eleven years calling events for ESPN’s family of networks, including college football, MLB, college basketball, NFL and NBA games. He has also broadcast select televised games for the Chicago Bulls as well as the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament on Westwood One Radio. <\/p>\n

Benetti began honing his broadcasting duties early on, calling football games for his high school radio station. He continued to do play-by-play duties throughout his time in college and law school, eventually landing roles with several regional broadcast networks, including Westwood One, Time Warner Cable Sports, the BIG EAST Conference and the Syracuse Chiefs.<\/p>\n

The Illinois native graduated from Syracuse University in 2005 with a degree in broadcast journalism, economics and psychology. He earned his J.D. from Wake Forest School of Law in 2011. <\/p>\n
