The year 2022 ended with record numbers.<\/p>\n<p>The theme of this year&#8217;s event was &#8220;Unlike Anything Else,&#8221; according to EAA President John Pelton, the event lived up to the name.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s been unlike anything else. The number of records we&#8217;ve achieved this year is absolutely incredible,&#8221; Pelton said.<\/p>\n<p>Wittman Regional Airport once again broke the record for the world&#8217;s busiest air traffic control tower during EAA week.  One of the ways to achieve this;  ushering in vintage aircraft, which was also a record as 2022 saw the oldest aircraft both in the sky and on the ground.  <\/p>\n<p>According to Pelton, the biggest record broken this year was the number of people who attended. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The attendance here was a record.  By far the biggest year we&#8217;ve had at EAA.
