Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev has dissolved parliament, dissolved Bulgaria’s 47th National Assembly and scheduled early parliamentary elections for October 2.<\/p>\n
President Rumen Radev signed the decree to dissolve the 47th National Assembly as of Tuesday, Radev’s press office reported.<\/p>\n
Radev also appointed an interim government, which will be led by Bulgarian Prime Minister Galab Donev, a former acting Minister of Labor and Social Policy.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, the members of the provisional government and the priorities will be officially presented at the Presidency building.<\/p>\n
The interim government is expected to be more lenient with Moscow, with possible efforts to restart Russian gas imports.<\/p>\n
The cabinet is expected to take a softer line toward Moscow, which could include efforts to renew Russian gas imports.<\/p>\n
Bulgaria could also amend the expulsion of 70 Russian diplomats for espionage and working against Bulgaria’s interests, which Prime Minister Kiril Petkov announced on National Television on Tuesday (June 28).<\/p>\n
The news follows Bulgaria’s annual military exercise ‘Breeze’ which saw 11 NATO countries head to the Black Sea to take part in various activities, it was reported on Friday 22 July.<\/p>\n
