Governor Kemp launches an economic plan <\/span><\/p>\n ATLANTA \u2014 A day after Stacey Abrams unveiled her economic plan, Gov. Brian Kemp made a big economic announcement.<\/p>\n Kemp said it was another record year for the Georgia economy.<\/p>\n \u201cWe tell people all the time that we live in the best state to live, work and raise our families. And that is the great state of Georgia. I believe that more than ever,\u201d Kemp said.<\/p>\n Just three months before Election Day, Kemp announced what he says was another record year for the Georgia economy.<\/p>\n At the Capitol, he told reporters that the amount of investment and job creation in the state in the last fiscal year broke previous state records.<\/p>\n RELATED STORIES:<\/p>\n “These are records that we will continue to build on because, as you know, we’re never one to rest on our laurels here in Georgia,” Kemp said.<\/p>\n The governor says 50,000 jobs were created in the state in the past year.<\/p>\n The governor’s announcement comes a day after his opponent, Stacey Abrams, announced her own economic plan, saying she would use the state’s budget surplus to expand Medicaid.<\/p>\n “We can do it now. The math shows we can do it without raising a penny in taxes, and my plan is about how we do it,” Abrams said.<\/p>\n Abrams said part of his economic plan also strongly supports the legalization of gambling in Georgia.<\/p>\n RELATED NEWS:<\/p>\n
