A Walker man who authorities say stole $600 in goods from a Hammond hardware store has been arrested, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n
In a statement, Chief Jimmy Travis said Albany city authorities arrested 36-year-old Jonathan Dale Pierson on Friday, charging him with being a fugitive from Tangipahoa Parish.<\/p>\n
Earlier this month, Travis asked for the public’s help in identifying and locating the man who walked into the Tractor Supply in Hammond with a basket, went to the back of the store, placed a truck winch electric in the basket and left the store without paying. a silver Ford F-150.<\/p>\n
The winch was valued at approximately $600, Travis said.<\/p>\n
Travis said a warrant for Pierson’s arrest was obtained on July 29 after he was identified and linked to a crime. Accordingly, Pierson was traveling in the same white Ford F-150 that also matched the description of a truck used in two recent robberies in Livingston Parish when he was arrested, Travis said.<\/p>\n
As of Monday, Pierson was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail and charged with theft of property over $600.<\/p>\n
