YONKERS, WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY: Patrick Reddon, a 37-year-old homeless man living in the city of Yonkers had been charged with attempted assault 1 a class B felony in addition to other felonies.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, August 7, 2022, Yonkers Police officers responded to 125 Saratoga Avenue on a report of a domestic dispute.<\/p>\n
A 34-year-old woman reported that her ex-boyfriend entered her apartment and left. Later that morning, Reddon returned to the scene and again engaged the woman in a dispute and called 911. Officers entered the apartment and located the couple arguing.<\/p>\n
YPD officers allege that Reddon resisted arrest, which caused him to “bump into an adjacent bed, where he then grabbed a box cutter.”<\/p>\n
YPD said Reddon cut off two of the arresting officers. Eventually, an officer opted to deploy his taser, subduing the suspect.<\/p>\n

The Yonkers Police Department later selectively sent press releases to certain favored news organizations, raising eyebrows from community advocates who wondered if there was some kind of cover-up.<\/p>\n
