2 firefighters, 4 people hospitalized after massive fire tore through Chelsea home <\/span><\/p>\n CHELSEA, Mass. – Six people, including two firefighters, were rushed to the hospital after a five-alarm fire tore through a three-story house in Chelsea early Wednesday morning, leaving more than 30 people without house<\/p>\n Heavy flames were seen shooting from all three floors of the Cottage Street duplex and firefighters received reports of several people trapped inside, according to Chelsea Fire Chief Leonard Albanese.<\/p>\n Firefighters rescued one person who was on the third floor, but everyone else got out on their own. Crews were able to control the flames and keep them contained, even though homes in the area were so close together.<\/p>\n “A very labor-intensive fire,” Albanese said. “The whole back of the structure was burning on all three stories. The porches are gone. And all the companies worked aggressively to contain this to the original building.”<\/p>\n The Red Cross is assisting a total of 23 adults and nine children who were forced to evacuate the home.<\/p>\n The building was severely damaged, especially at the rear. The State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.<\/p>\n This is a developing story.
