The country’s second-highest-ranked barrister is today due to provide legal advice to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese over his predecessor Scott Morrison’s portfolio scandal.<\/p>\n

The attorney general has been asked to find out exactly what happened, how it happened and if there are any legal ramifications.<\/p>\n

Albanese has not ruled out further consultations and reforms to ensure there is no similar scandal in the future.<\/p>\n

Morrison has come under fire from all sides of politics following revelations that he had secretly taken on ministerial responsibilities in the Health, Home Affairs, Resources, Treasury and Finance portfolios.<\/p>\n

He has claimed that this was done to provide an extra layer of security during the COVID-19 pandemic, should a minister be struck down by the disease.<\/p>\n

Morrison said the secrecy of his actions was necessary so as not to undermine ministers.<\/p>\n

Former Home Secretary Karen Andrews has called for the former Prime Minister to leave Parliament after the revelations were made public.<\/p>\n
