{"id":16714,"date":"2022-08-23T16:40:24","date_gmt":"2022-08-23T16:40:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news24feed.com\/vehicle-fire-leads-to-cleanup-operation-at-mass-pike-exit-in-boston-after-rental-truck-catches-fire-boston-news-weather-sports\/"},"modified":"2022-08-23T16:40:24","modified_gmt":"2022-08-23T16:40:24","slug":"vehicle-fire-leads-to-cleanup-operation-at-mass-pike-exit-in-boston-after-rental-truck-catches-fire-boston-news-weather-sports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news24feed.com\/?p=16714","title":{"rendered":"Vehicle fire leads to cleanup operation at Mass Pike exit in Boston after rental truck catches fire &#8211; Boston News, Weather, Sports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>BOSTON (WHDH) &#8211; A Mass Pike EB exit is back open after a rental truck caught fire, closing the exit 131 ramp in the process.<\/p>\n<p>MassDOT announced the ramp closure just after 3:45 pm as crews extinguished the flames at the Allston-Brighton\/Cambridge exit.<\/p>\n<p>Boston firefighters were able to put out the flames thanks in part to a hose that ran about 50 feet from the ramp and a hydrant below, according to a tweet.<\/p>\n<p>First responders soon went into cleanup mode as they worked to clear a large amount of smoldering debris, some of which flew off the ramp and onto a shed structure below the exit. <\/p>\n<p>The ramp was reopened after seven in the afternoon<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Businesses on the Mass Pike ramp in a U-Haul full of mattresses that was on fire.  The companies had to access a water supply from 50 feet below and some of the burning debris fell onto the roof of a shed and had to be removed.
