Authorities arrested a man accused of leaving several grams of fentanyl in his car with his son present, an arrest that came amid a months-long narcotics investigation, according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office .<\/p>\n
Several agencies assisted in the investigation, including the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n
In a statement, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office said detectives have been investigating Terelle Willis, also known as “Self Made Shark,” for the past month. During the investigation, officers conducted numerous controlled buys of fentanyl from Willis and obtained search warrants for several locations.<\/p>\n
Authorities in East Baton Rouge executed search warrants at three locations on August 22 and seized the following items:<\/p>\n
— 17.2 grams of fentanyl<\/p>\n
— 4 pounds of marijuana<\/p>\n
— 18 dosage units of oxycodone<\/p>\n
— 14 dosage units of Xanax<\/p>\n
— Taurus .45 caliber pistol<\/p>\n
— 3 digital scales<\/p>\n
— Tablet press<\/p>\n
— Blender with fentanyl residue<\/p>\n
— Documented currency used in controlled purchases<\/p>\n
The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office also executed a search warrant at 25613 Palmwood Court in Denham Springs, seizing marijuana, fentanyl and approximately $4,700.<\/p>\n
Willis, 29, was arrested inside a local grocery store, authorities said. During the arrest, officers found Willis’ 1-year-old child “unattended and unrestrained” inside her vehicle, with the 17.2 grams of fentanyl nearby.<\/p>\n
Willis was booked into the East Baton Rouge Detention Center on multiple drug and child desertion charges. The Department of Child and Family Services has been informed.<\/p>\n
