Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded this morning to a collision that killed a pedestrian in Orange County.<\/p>\n
According to the FHP report, at approximately 12:10 a.m. Saturday, an unknown vehicle described as a pickup truck was traveling northbound on US-441 near the intersection of Rosamond Drive in the inside lane. At the same time, a 63-year-old Orlando man was walking eastbound and entered the northbound lanes of the Orange Blossom Trail. The pedestrian entered the direct path of the pick-up truck and was hit by the vehicle.<\/p>\n
After the collision, the pickup truck continued traveling on Orange Blossom Trail. The pedestrian was now lying in the inside lane. <\/p>\n
Shortly after the collision, a 2016 Toyota Tacoma, driven by a 74-year-old Apopka man, was traveling northbound on the OBT when he saw the pedestrian, attempted to swerve to miss, but crashed into with him.<\/p>\n
The second driver was not injured and remained at the scene. <\/p>\n
According to the report, the pedestrian died from injuries sustained in the crashes.<\/p>\n
Witnesses said the vehicle that was hit was a white or silver Chevy Silverado, but could not provide any other description of the vehicle or the driver.<\/p>\n
