PALO ALTO – A resident interrupted two suspects trying to burglarize his home Tuesday night, according to police.<\/p>\n
Alerted by her home’s security cameras, a woman in her 50s discovered two suspects had entered her home on Byron Street through an unlocked side door, according to a police news release. He called a police emergency line at about 9:12 p.m., yelling “hello” while on the phone. He then heard one of the suspects utter a curse and both individuals immediately fled the scene.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival, officers discovered a broken sliding glass door, but no items were missing. Police said in a news release that the suspects are believed to have entered the home but fled when they heard the woman’s voice.<\/p>\n
Security cameras showed a dark four-door sedan, which police say may be a Dodge Charger, driving south on Byron Street at a high rate of speed just after the incident was reported. Police did not release a detailed description of the suspects, noting only that they appeared to be wearing hooded sweatshirts with masks and gloves.<\/p>\n
Tuesday’s robbery was being investigated for a possible connection to an April incident in which a man also interrupted an apparent burglary attempt at his home on Dana Avenue, police said.<\/p>\n
