Alberta Emergency Alert (AEA) has issued an evacuation order for parts of Ponoka County.<\/p>\n

Here is the official notice from AEA<\/p>\n

Alert: May 3, 2023 at 4:36 p.m<\/p>\n

Area: <\/strong>This alert is in effect for everyone in the northwest area of \u200b\u200bthe city of Ponoka.<\/p>\n

Description: <\/strong>There is a wildfire 5 miles northwest of the town of Ponoka near Range Road 265 and Township Road 433. It is moving northwest.<\/p>\n

Instruction: <\/strong>Homes on Township Road 434 near Highway 795 are being evacuated now.<\/p>\n

Everyone else in the area north and northwest of Township Road 434 and Highway 795 should prepare for a possible evacuation.<\/p>\n

Gather important documents and medicine and enough food, water and supplies for 3 days.<\/p>\n

There is no need to evacuate at this time, unless you are told to leave by authorities.<\/p>\n

If you evacuate, go to the Ponoka Legion Reception Center at 3911 Hwy 2 A in Ponoka to register. If you need help evacuating, call 1-403-783-3333. <\/p>\n
