SAINT ANTHONY<\/strong> – A woman and two children, ages 1 and 2, are in surgery after a domestic violence shooting on the North Side, according to San Antonio Police Chief William McManus.<\/p>\n Police were called to the 500 block of Robinhood Place around 7pm Monday for a shooting.<\/p>\n Officers found a 28-year-old woman on the sidewalk who had been shot in the neck and lower torso, McManus said. They also found that two children, ages 1 and 2, had been shot.<\/p>\n The police chief said two boys, ages 8 and 11, had enough vision to escape the home. One broke a sliding glass door and the other broke a bedroom window.<\/p>\n The injured woman and children were taken to a local hospital for surgery. His conditions are unclear at this time.<\/p>\n McManus said the two boys who escaped appeared to be in “good shape.”<\/p>\n Police arrested a 50-year-old man at a house about a kilometer away. McManus said the man shot the woman and the two children.<\/p>\n “It’s heartbreaking to see a family like this destroyed,” the chief said.<\/p>\n McManus said he wasn’t sure if the family had had domestic violence calls before, as he had just arrived at the scene.<\/p>\n “This is outrageous,” he said.<\/p>\n The chief had a strong message about the effort that goes into preventing domestic violence.<\/p>\n “It affects everyone and everyone.
