From the Florida Highway Patrol<\/p>\n

Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash in Lake County last night that killed an Apopka bicyclist.<\/p>\n

According to the FHP report, at approximately 10:24 p.m. Friday, a 2006 Ford F-150 driven by a 28-year-old Apopka man was traveling westbound on State Highway 46 east of Deal Drive to Sorrento. At the same time, a 38-year-old Apopka man riding a bicycle was traveling west on the west shoulder of SR-46 east of Deal.<\/p>\n

As the two approached, the bicyclist began traveling in a southwesterly direction and entered the westbound lane in the direct path of the F-150. As a result, the two vehicles collided. <\/p>\n

The driver of the F-150 and a passenger remained at the scene of the collision and did not report any injuries to the FHP. The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

This accident remains under investigation.<\/p>\n

The FHP did not release the names of the driver, passenger or bicyclist who died.<\/p>\n
