BOURNE, Mass. – A man has died after being pulled from the water in the Cape Cod Canal in Bourne early Sunday morning, authorities said.<\/p>\n
The man, who has not been identified, was pulled from the water by a good Samaritan and then taken by ambulance to Falmouth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to Massachusetts Environmental Police.<\/p>\n
Emergency crews were called to the Barlow landing craft ramp at 10:30 a.m. Sunday for a “Priority 1,” which is the most serious and highest priority emergency, said Sunday Bourne Deputy Fire Chief Joe Carrara.<\/p>\n
When fire paramedics arrived, they brought a patient who had been taken to the landing by boat to Falmouth Hospital, Carrara said.<\/p>\n
Environmental police are investigating, police said.<\/p>\n
Additional details were not immediately available.<\/p>\n
The death in Bourne was the second water-related death reported in the region in less than 24 hours.<\/p>\n
Late Friday night, a boater’s body was recovered from Fiske Pond in Natick.<\/p>\n
