JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 Action News Jax is on the scene of a shooting at Gregory Cove Apartments in University Park.<\/p>\n

Action News Princess Jax Jhan\u00e9 Stepherson arrived on the scene around 5:10 a.m. to find that several residents of the apartment complex had been evacuated. He spoke with a JSO officer about what’s going on, but since it’s an active investigation, officers are being firm.<\/p>\n
However, Stepherson also spoke with a resident, who claims to live inside the complex and still has family inside. More Matthies moved into the complex a year ago and says it’s usually a quiet place.<\/p>\n

Matthies also says he had a friend inside his apartment earlier who told him that JSO told him to stay in his apartment.<\/p>\n
“He said he’s a guy who shoots a gun everywhere,” she said. “I hope they fix this. We pay rent. This isn’t great. It’s supposed to be Southside, Arlington area. What’s going on?”<\/p>\n
Stepherson also heard someone yell at the scene earlier, “If you’re in fear of your life, we can help you. If you need help, JFRD is on the scene.”<\/p>\n
