Jake Humphrey has announced that he will be stepping down from his role as main presenter at BT Sport after ten years.<\/p>\n
Humphrey has hosted the channel’s Premier League and Champions League coverage for a decade, but revealed on Friday that he will soon be “retiring” from the position.<\/p>\n
The 44-year-old says his departure from BT Sport will allow him to “pursue other projects”, such as his high-performance podcast.<\/p>\n
After his departure, the company will need to find a new main anchor, and it looks like they already have a replacement lined up. <\/p>\n
Mail Sport revealed the channel wants Laura Woods to present its Premier League coverage next season, as part of its rebrand as TNT Sports this summer.<\/p>\n

It could mean a huge change in football coverage in the UK and following the news, Humphrey took to social media to write an emotional farewell. <\/p>\n
Humphrey wrote on Twitter: “After 10 wonderful years I’m stepping down from BT. As a football fan, hosting Premier League games, FA Cup games and European finals has meant the world to me. Ha It’s been my dream job. I’ve loved being a very small part of a world-class production team.”<\/p>\n
“I’m also blessed to have shared the screen with legends of the game and amazing broadcasters, who have become friends. Thank you all.’<\/p>\n
Humphrey also discussed the growth of Whisper Group, his award-winning broadcast production agency. <\/p>\n
He wrote: \u201cWhen I joined BT in 2013, I had no kids, the Whisper Group was in its infancy and I didn’t even know what a podcast was!<\/p>\n
“A decade later, Whisper has hundreds of team members I want to work with more, and the impact of high performance amazes me every day. I’m also not ashamed to say that I’m still very ambitious. <\/p>\n
“Stepping back from BT will give me space to pursue other projects and fulfill other ambitions. I’m excited. To everyone who’s watched and commented, both good and bad (!), thank you! It’s been a blast.. .\u00d7’.<\/p>\n
Humphrey has been a familiar face at BT, working alongside the likes of Rio Ferdinand and Michael Owen. <\/p>\n

The offering at Woods includes the presentation of live matches and participation in other programs.<\/p>\n
Woods currently presents the morning breakfast show on talkSPORT, for which he has won several awards, after hosting ITV’s World Cup coverage in Qatar last year. <\/p>\n
BT Sport is axing its popular football show Score, with the channel’s on-screen talent saying the show will no longer exist from next season.<\/p>\n
