A rally for change was held in Yonkers over the weekend where political candidates joined residents calling for an end to what they say is nepotism and corruption at City Hall.<\/p>\n

“No more of the same old we’ve been seeing year after year after year when it comes to City Council and city government,” said city council candidate Shatika Parker.<\/p>\n

Parker was joined by mayoral candidate Corazon Caneda-Isaac and Christopher Johnson, the majority leader of the Westchester Board of Legislators.<\/p>\n

He stated “we are here to make sure that the council is behind the hands of the city and the residents who live in this city.”<\/p>\n

A judge ruled last month that the Yonkers City Council did not violate the city’s ethics code when it voted late last year to allow elected officials to serve four four-year terms.<\/p>\n
