ORLANDO, Fla. – ABC News has confirmed reports that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will announce he’s running for president on Wednesday during a discussion with Twitter CEO Elon Musk.<\/p>\n

Bryan Griffin, a spokesman for DeSantis, confirmed Tuesday’s planned announcement, which is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.<\/p>\n

DeSantis will join Sen. Tim Scott, RS.C., former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley and former President Donald Trump, who previously announced plans to seek the Republican nomination.<\/p>\n

President Joe Biden announced in April that he was seeking re-election.<\/p>\n
