OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT)<\/strong> \u2013 A local man is behind bars on homicide charges after he allegedly shot a woman in the head in Oil City Wednesday evening. <\/p>\n Court documents show the Oil City Police Department filed the following criminal charges against a 61-year-old man Mark D. Redfield<\/strong>of Oil City, on Thursday, May 25, in the office of District Judge Andrew F. Fish:<\/p>\n Redfield was arraigned at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, May 25, before District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland.<\/p>\n He was booked into the Venango County Jail with bond denied. The reason for the bail action was listed as “risk of flight. High presumption of guilt of defendant.”<\/p>\n Oil City Police Chief Dave Ragon confirmed exploreVenango.com<\/strong> that there was a shooting in Oil City on Wednesday evening, May 24.<\/p>\n He could not provide additional details, but indicated that a joint news release from the Oil City Police Department and the Venango County District Attorney’s Office would be released later today.<\/p>\n According to Venango County Coroner Christina Rugh, the victim was identified as a 40-year-old April Michelle Dark<\/strong>of the oil city.<\/p>\n Rugh said Dunkle’s cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.<\/p>\n Dunkle’s autopsy is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. Thursday, May 25, Rugh said.<\/p>\n Stay with Explore for continued coverage of this breaking news.<\/strong><\/p>\n
