JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspected carjacking at Lane Avenue and Manotak Avenue.<\/p>\n

According to detectives, the incident happened around one in the morning on Tuesday. The victim had just arrived home from work when he was approached by a man in his 20s wearing a white mask and a sweatshirt. The suspect pulled out a gun and stole the car.<\/p>\n

Police arrived in the area and briefly chased the suspect in the stolen car onto eastbound I-10 and I-95 at Northwood Road before the suspect jumped out of the vehicle and attempted to run. He was later caught and the car was returned to the owner.<\/p>\n

Detectives are still at the scene processing evidence, but said the suspect was taken into custody and will be charged with carjacking.<\/p>\n
