(WABC) &#8212; <\/span>A small plane bound for Long Island crashed in Virginia, causing the fighter jets to crash.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Ekqk yuUa lqtk TjIX aGjv\">The FAA says the Cessna Citation crashed into mountainous terrain near Montebello, Virginia, around 3:30 p.m. Sunday.  The plane was bound for MacArthur Airport in Islip.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Ekqk yuUa lqtk TjIX aGjv\">Authorities say they were concerned about the plane because it was flying an unusual flight path over the DC area.  Officials say the F-16s were scrambled to investigate and saw that the plane&#8217;s pilot had passed out.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Ekqk yuUa lqtk TjIX aGjv\">Virginia State Police and other rescue officials arrived at the scene of the crash around 8:00 p.m. Sunday.
