BOSTON – City officials are trying to locate the owner of “Chelsea,” a Golden Retriever mix who was found abandoned in a crate in Mattapan. <\/p>\n
A good Samaritan found Chelsea Sunday behind the bushes in the patio area of \u200b\u200b221 River St. in Mattapan, city officials said. <\/p>\n
Abandoned dog: Golden retriever mix found left in crate in Mattapan, city officials say <\/span>(City of Boston)<\/p>\n The concerned citizen brought the dog to the MPSCA where it was later picked up by a Boston animal control officer, officials said. The dog’s body was very thin and the dog had a strong smell and smell. <\/p>\n The animal control officer took Chelsea to Angell Animal Hospital, where she received care before being transferred to the City of Boston Animal Care Facility. <\/p>\n Chelsea got her name from the animal staff that rescued her. He is doing well and is currently under the care of city veterinarian Dr. Martha Smith Blackmore, officials said.<\/p>\n City officials are asking anyone who recognizes this dog to contact them at: animalcontrol@boston.gov.<\/p>\n This is a developing story.
