Reports of a shooting closed Park Boulevard and suspended services at a Seminole church as law enforcement swarmed the area Sunday morning to investigate.<\/p>\n

Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call about an armed person near Park Boulevard and 134th Street N, according to a news release.<\/p>\n

Oakhurst United Methodist Church suspended service due to heavy law enforcement presence and road closures. Officials said the incident did not involve the church.<\/p>\n

“Our property is being used as a staging area for the Sheriff’s Department,” the church wrote on its Facebook page.<\/p>\n

Outside the church in the early morning light Sunday, Pastor Nathan Carlson said the shooting had been across the street, adding, “We’re praying for those involved.”<\/p>\n

Deputies are asking people to avoid the area.<\/p>\n
