BOSTON – A Green Line trolley carrying more than two dozen passengers derailed in Boston Monday afternoon, officials said.<\/p>\n
The Green Line B trolley derailed between Blandford and Washington streets near Packard’s Corner around 1:40 p.m., according to the MBTA.<\/p>\n
There were about 30 passengers on board at the time of the derailment. They all managed to get off the train safely.<\/p>\n
Riders are being warned of long delays as shuttle buses are sent between the Kenmore and Washington Street stations. Riders can also use the Route 57 bus for service between Kenmore and Packard’s Corner.<\/p>\n
MBTA staff are working to get the streetcar back on track.<\/p>\n
The Federal Transit Administration and the Department of Public Services have been notified of the incident.<\/p>\n
No additional details were immediately available.<\/p>\n
The cause of the derailment is under investigation.<\/p>\n
