After his transfer tweet that he was “coming home,” Jordy Bahl and fate chose to torture what is now sure to be a growing number of Husker softball fans for less than three days with their decision.<\/p>\n
He is now a member of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.<\/p>\n
Jordy immediately becomes the ace of the Huskers team and is bolstered by a hard-hitting team that returns 7 of its 8 starters on the field. His presence likely takes recruiting to another level and if that includes another top-tier starter, expectations for 2024 will go through the roof. At the very least, hosting and winning a regional will likely be the floor of those predictions.<\/p>\n

And while we’re at it, has there ever been a transfer of this magnitude in any sport? (Athletes transferring from community or junior colleges are not included.)<\/p>\n
Joe Burrow? He had never started a game at the time and only exploded in 2 BC LSU<\/a>. Randy Moss? Same and made his impact at 1-AA level.<\/p>\n Hailey Van Lith? Probably as close as you’re going to get, but no national titles yet, and joining a team that just won one.<\/p>\n Hank Gathers and Bo Kimble? He averaged 12 and 8 ppg respectively at USC.<\/p>\n Baseball: Anyone? Hockey? Volleyball: There have probably been a few, but like this?<\/p>\n Folks, while I welcome anything more obscure that anyone can come up with, I’m telling you that there has never been a transfer of an athlete at this current level with the opportunity to impact the trajectory of their new program in such a short time term like enough possibly for many years.<\/p>\n Nebraska Cornhuskers<\/p>\n
