{"id":26766,"date":"2023-06-21T07:54:03","date_gmt":"2023-06-21T07:54:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news24feed.com\/?p=26766"},"modified":"2023-06-21T07:54:04","modified_gmt":"2023-06-21T07:54:04","slug":"man-accused-of-shooting-girlfriend-in-bessemer-state-police-say-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news24feed.com\/?p=26766","title":{"rendered":"Man accused of shooting girlfriend in Bessemer, state police say &#8211; WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-tl066j-0 dowhnV body-paragraph\">A woman was shot to death in an apparent domestic situation Monday night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-tl066j-0 dowhnV body-paragraph\">Brandi Marie Genova, 33, was found shot to death at a home at 13 Bestview Avenue, Bessemer, in Lawrence County, according to state police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-tl066j-0 dowhnV body-paragraph\">Michael Joseph Work, 33, has been arrested and charged in connection with her death.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-tl066j-0 dowhnV body-paragraph\">State police in New Castle were notified by Work&#8217;s family, who told them he had shot Genova, his girlfriend, at his residence, according to a state police report.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-tl066j-0 dowhnV body-paragraph\">Troopers and Bessemer Borough Police went to the home on Bestview Avenue and found Genova dead from apparent gunshot wounds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-tl066j-0 dowhnV body-paragraph\">Work was stopped at the Union Square shopping plaza in Union Township, Lawrence County, without incident, according to state police.
