BRAINTREE, Mass – Authorities are investigating a double homicide in Braintree that killed a 16-year-old and a 19-year-old Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
According to Braintree police, around 1:30 a.m., officers received calls from several neighbors hearing shots fired on Alfred Road. Upon arrival, officers found two individuals inside a car with gunshot wounds, a third person in the car was uninjured.<\/p>\n
Police, Braintree Fire Department personnel and Brewster Ambulance paramedics began lifesaving measures. Both victims were taken to a local hospital and died from their injuries.<\/p>\n
The Alfred Road resident was identified as 16-year-old Jahzier Porter, according to the Norfolk District Attorney. The second victim was Jayden Santos-Andrade, of Dorchester, who would have turned 20 next month.<\/p>\n
Porter was a student at Braintree High School. Authorities have contacted the superintendent of schools to discuss making resources available to members of the school community.<\/p>\n
Although the investigation is still ongoing, at the moment the police indicate that there is no threat to the public.<\/p>\n
“We have two grieving families today,” said Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey, who was at the scene before the news conference. “We have detectives in the Braintree field and state police trying to gather evidence of what happened and who may have been involved.<\/p>\n
