BRAINTREE, Mass. \u2014 Police spent Monday keeping a close watch on a Braintree neighborhood where two teenagers died over the weekend as they continued to search for the suspect.<\/p>\n
School officials are making grief counselors available to students during the school holidays after the murders of two teenagers, one of them a 16-year-old Braintree High School student. <\/p>\n
Jahzier Porter, 16, of Braintree, and Jayden Santos-Andrade, 19, of Dorchester, were shot to death in a car on Alfred Road in Braintree early Sunday morning, the district attorney said. Investigators are looking for the gunman or gunman who killed the teenagers.<\/p>\n
“We have detectives on the ground in Braintree and state police trying to gather evidence of what happened and who may have been involved,” said Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey.<\/p>\n
The DA believes these victims were targeted and there could be multiple suspects involved, but until this case is solved, many residents will be worried.<\/p>\n
“It’s sad, it’s scary, I’m not going to lie, it’s scary,” said Brenda, who lives near the crime scene.<\/p>\n

When officers arrived, they found the two teenagers in a car with gunshot wounds, the district attorney said. A third person in the car was not injured.<\/p>\n Porter and Santos-Andrade were taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where they later died, the district attorney said.<\/p>\n “It’s horrible, 16 and 19, wow, life was just starting, they were on a trip and look in the blink of an eye, they’re gone,” Brenda said. <\/p>\n Meanwhile, counselors at Braintree High School, where Porter was a student, are available for any student who may need support at this time, Braintree Schools Superintendent James Lee said in a statement Monday.<\/p>\n “Although school is not currently in session, any student or family in need of assistance should contact Braintree Public Schools to be put in touch with a counselor for support,” Lee said. “While the details of the incident remain the subject of an active police investigation, our thoughts and prayers go out to the student’s family, friends and all those affected by this tragedy.”<\/p>\n Braintree Police are asking anyone with information or video they believe is relevant to this investigation to call the Norfolk State Police Detective Unit at 781-830-4990 or the State Police Detective Division at Braintree at 781-794-8620.<\/p>\n This is a developing story.
