WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, Texas – Brett Detamore, a 38-year-old father of three from West U, was found alive early Tuesday<\/a>in accordance with Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen.<\/a><\/p>\n Detamore had been missing since Wednesday, June 21. They last saw him West U, west of Bellaire<\/a>early that morning<\/p>\n Precinct 1 reports that Detamore was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation and treatment. <\/p>\n “The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers!” Rosen said in a tweet early Tuesday.<\/p>\n On Monday, West University Place police gave an update on the search for the father.<\/p>\n Breaking News – The search is over tonight. The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers! #hounews<\/a> pic.twitter.com\/n8HYhcQbty<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Constable Alan Rosen (@ConstableRosen) June 27, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n His new yellow Dodge Ram pickup truck was found burned on June 21 Bear Creek Park<\/a>about 20 kilometers away, West U PD confirmed Friday. <\/a><\/p>\n On Monday Press conference<\/a>WUPD Chief Ken Walker said a surveillance camera recorded the truck leaving the neighborhood at 4:21 a.m.<\/p>\n Hours later, Houston police found the badly burned truck, traced the VIN to Detamore and notified West University police.<\/p>\n Walker said a witness came forward and said they saw a man walking away from the burning vehicle.<\/p>\n Since then, WUPD, HPD Harris County Constable Precincts 1 and 5 and Texas Equusearch volunteers had been searching for Detamore.<\/p>\n “It’s one of our residents who went missing and we take these things seriously,” Walker said.<\/p>\n The chief previously said they have “absolutely no information” of foul play in the case, but the investigation continues. <\/p>\n “We have information that indicates it may have been pre-planned with no crime involved, but it’s too early to come to that conclusion,” Walker said.<\/p>\n It was not uncommon for Detamore to leave for work early in the morning, according to Walker, and they have found no history of domestic problems.<\/p>\n “Unfortunately, in high-profile cases, social media takes over and a lot of misinformation is spread, as well as people claiming to have knowledge of the missing person or the missing person investigation,” Walker said.<\/p>\n I WILL SEE: <\/strong>WUPD press conference Monday<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n
