YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – A 31-year-old Yuma woman died of a gunshot wound just after midnight Sunday.<\/p>\n

According to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO), at approximately 12:16 p.m., deputies responded to a report of shots fired in the area of \u200b\u200bWest 1st Street. Upon arrival, officers found a female unresponsive with a gunshot wound.<\/p>\n

YCSO said deputies performed life-saving procedures until the Rural Metro Fire Department arrived and took over. However, the victim, identified as Christian Galindo, 31, of Yuma, died from his injuries.<\/p>\n

YCSO’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations took over the investigation and revealed that Galindo was inside her home when a stray bullet struck her.<\/p>\n
