Smith was charged in the May 26 killing of 17-year-old Dearon Stout, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>T<a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstontx.gov\/police\/nr\/2023\/may\/nr053023-3.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the shooting happened around 5:10 pm at an apartment complex<\/a> at 6767 Bennington Street, according to a news release from the Houston Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>Northeastern officers are on the scene of the shooting at 6700 Bennington.
