Mosseri said in a Threads of conversation<\/a> that the new platform will inevitably contain politics and hard news, but that Threads “will do nothing to encourage those verticals,” an approach taken by Facebook in 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mosseri noted that the engagement or revenue such content can generate is not worth the scrutiny, negativity or integrity risks they present to the platform.<\/p>\n

“The goal is not to replace Twitter,” Mosseri added, referring to the rival platform that has heavily encouraged political content and hosted live audio conversations with former Twitter CEO Elon Musk and the chairman of the GOP. candidates<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson also uses Twitter as a platform to upload episodes of his independent commentary show.
