GWINNETT County, Ga. – An investigator with the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office was shot Friday evening, police confirmed to Channel 2 Action News.<\/p>\n

Police say the investigator called and reported that he had been shot while driving on Auburn Road in the town of Auburn shortly after 6 p.m.<\/p>\n

Channel 2 Action News crews are on the scene working to get more details. Get the latest updates on WSB tonight at 11 p.m<\/p>\n

The investigator, who has not been identified, drove to a gas station at Old Fountain Road and Jim Moore Road before calling for help.<\/p>\n

The suspect was driving a silver SUV with damage on the rear passenger side.<\/p>\n

The investigator had been shot in the leg and is currently hospitalized. He is expected to make a full recovery.<\/p>\n

Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for an SUV similar to the suspect’s.<\/p>\n
