CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK) – A new poll is out that shows some interesting items in a couple of big political races in West Virginia. <\/p>\n
The 2024 West Virginia primary is almost 10 months away, so a lot could change between now and then.<\/p>\n
It’s a crowded Republican field for those seeking to replace term-limited Gov. Jim Justice.<\/p>\n
The new poll, conducted by Orion Strategies for the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce has some interesting results for the governor’s race. <\/p>\n
Justice Minister Patrick Morrisey<\/a> it is at 31%, closely followed by the Speaker of the House Judiciary Moore got it<\/a> to 30% secretary of state Mac Warner<\/a> has 9%, entrepreneur Chris Miller<\/a> at 5%, and Auditor of the State JB McCuskey<\/a> with 3%.<\/p>\n “There’s still a good number of undecided voters, and one thing to remember: The campaigns haven’t really started running their ads or spending their money yet,” said Brian Dayton of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce. . “So a lot of this is going to be based on name identification, at this point, so we plan to continue to survey.” <\/p>\n The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce survey shows this as well justice<\/a> with a great advantage over the congressman Alex Mooney<\/a>56% to 19% as they seek the Republican nomination for the United States Senate. <\/p>\n Congressman Mooney says he doesn’t think the poll is accurate, and a spokesman says, “The race is just beginning.”<\/p>\n Next year’s West Virginia primary will be held on May 14, 2024.<\/p>\n
