Three children are among six people who have died after a stabbing at a kindergarten in China’s Guangdong province. <\/p>\n
The other victims are believed to be a teacher and two parents.<\/p>\n
It happened in Lianjiang, Guangdong province in the southeast. china<\/strong>.<\/p>\n A 25-year-old man surnamed Wu has been arrested, police said.<\/p>\n The incident took place around 7:40 a.m. local time, when parents were likely dropping off their children at daycare.<\/p>\n Another person was injured.<\/p>\n Dafeng News, a news outlet, said an unidentified witness had claimed the attacker’s son had been hit earlier by the car of one of the people who died at the school.<\/p>\n No other details were immediately available.<\/p>\n Although violent crime is rare in China, attacks on kindergartens have been prominent in recent years.<\/p>\n Last August, three were killed and others injured in a stabbing at a preschool in Jiangxi province, while in 2021 a man killed two children and injured 16 at a kindergarten in the region of Guangxi<\/p>\n Analysts say they are often blamed on grudges or mental illness and can often involve the use of knives. Ownership of most guns is illegal in China.<\/p>\n
