He will lead a new team dedicated to covering breaking news in entertainment, fashion, media and politics within the Style section.<\/p>\n<p data-testid=\"drop-cap-letter\" data-el=\"text\" class=\"wpds-c-cYdRxM wpds-c-cYdRxM-iPJLV-css overrideStyles font-copy\" dir=\"null\">Underwood joins The Post from the Styles desk at the New York Times, where she edited news and business stories on a wide range of topics, including the creator economy, the world of reality television and celebrities.  His breadth of knowledge of popular culture is evident in the stories he edited <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/01\/26\/style\/amy-schneider-jeopardy.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;Danger!&#8221;<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/05\/19\/style\/call-her-daddy-podcast.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">winners<\/a>changes in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/05\/06\/style\/mattea-roach-jeopardy.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">podcast industry<\/a> and well, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/07\/06\/style\/boob-tape.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">breast tape<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-testid=\"drop-cap-letter\" data-el=\"text\" class=\"wpds-c-cYdRxM wpds-c-cYdRxM-iPJLV-css overrideStyles font-copy\" dir=\"null\">She started at the Times in the audience development team, then moved to Vogue to lead its social media strategy and eventually returned to the Times&#8217; Styles desk as an editor.  He previously worked at Slate and the Brookings Institution.<\/p>\n<p data-testid=\"drop-cap-letter\" data-el=\"text\" class=\"wpds-c-cYdRxM wpds-c-cYdRxM-iPJLV-css overrideStyles font-copy\" dir=\"null\">Underwood graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in journalism.  She resides in Los Angeles and will be based there.  His first day is March 27.
