Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz says the victim of the shooting at Myles Standish State Forest Wednesday afternoon has died.<\/p>\n
According to authorities, Robert Aponte-Flores, 25, of New Bedford, was shot multiple times after an altercation took place in a picnic area of \u200b\u200bthe park around 2:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
Aponte-Flores was transported from the scene and later pronounced dead at Beth Israel Hospital, Cruz said.<\/p>\n
The shooting victim was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess in Plymouth to be treated for his gunshot wounds.<\/p>\n
“This was not a random act of violence and there is no threat to the public,” Cruz said.<\/p>\n
No arrests have been made at this time in the shooting.<\/p>\n
The investigation is currently active.<\/p>\n
