Unfortunately, the Big Country isn’t exactly a stranger to reports of prisoner escapes. Although Angela Trueblood only had about 20 minutes of freedom, it was what she was wearing in her photo that caught people’s attention on Facebook.<\/p>\n

It’s interesting how some stories seem to stand out from the rest, isn’t it? KRBC’s Annabelle Tuggle reported last week on a potential buyer who could save a million dollar home in Abilene.<\/p>\n

In the Vaquero Ranch neighborhood, a large house has been unfinished for almost three years. At a Building Standards Board meeting on Tuesday, July 5, an attorney announced that a new owner, an entity called Speedy Sell Estates, LLC, could be its saving grace.<\/p>\n

The board bought some time by proposing further discussion of the demolition for a month, hoping to approve a contract.<\/p>\n

\t\tNew businesses and B&Bs show Abilene’s SoDA district’s versatility in latest wave of changes\t<\/p>\n

South Downtown Abilene, better known as the SoDA District, is getting another makeover. What was, until very recently, Moose Mountain Coffee will soon be a bed and breakfast. In addition, there will also be another bed and breakfast soon. This adds up to a multi-faceted homeware store.<\/p>\n

\t\tUPDATE: Abilene junkyard owner says car ‘exploded’ and caused massive fire\t<\/p>\n

The owner of an Abilene junkyard said a car exploded while he was moving it Tuesday afternoon, causing a large fire in a junkyard.<\/p>\n

Investigators said “the owner of the property was at the scene and claimed he was moving scrap cars with his crane when one of the vehicles ‘exploded’ after he dropped it onto the pile.”<\/p>\n
