summer, breaking long-standing records in the country&#8217;s major cities as hot conditions &#8220;dangerously &#8221; persist in Arizona, California and Texas this week.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"timeline-timestamp\">July 14<\/span>Two major Texas cities tied their daily high temperature records <strong>Saint Anthony<\/strong> hitting 105 degrees and <strong>Waco<\/strong> reaching 104, while <strong>Fort Worth<\/strong>Texas, broke its daily record with 106 and <strong>phoenix<\/strong> tied his all-time high at 116.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"timeline-timestamp\">July 13<\/span><strong>phoenix<\/strong> set its latest daily record high temperature at 114 degrees, following a string of daily record highs in the city, while <strong>Baton Rouge<\/strong>Louisiana, another daily record with a temperature of 95 degrees.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"timeline-timestamp\">June 25<\/span>As the heat wave spread eastward, <strong>new orleans<\/strong> set a new daily record high of 98 degrees, surpassing its previous high of 97 set last year.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"timeline-timestamp\">June 24<\/span><strong>Roswell<\/strong>New Mexico <a 23<\/span><strong>Saint Anthony<\/strong> tied its daily heat record at 102 degrees, while Laredo set another daily record (109).<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"timeline-timestamp\">June 22<\/span><strong>Corpus Christi, McAllen<\/strong> i <strong>Laredo <\/strong>continued to break daily high temperature records (103, 105 and 114 degrees, respectively).<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"timeline-timestamp\">June 21<\/span>The <strong>Florida Keys<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NWSKeyWest\/status\/1671628085098315776\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"color-link\" class=\"timeline-timestamp\">June 20<\/span><strong>Laredo<\/strong> i <strong>McAllen<\/strong> broke daily records again, at 114 and 106 degrees, respectively, while <strong>Austin<\/strong> set another daily record (106) and <strong>Midland<\/strong> broke his daily record (109).<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"timeline-timestamp\">June 19<\/span>Records were broken across Texas during a heat wave, with new daily highs set <strong>Saint Anthony<\/strong> (105 degrees) and <strong>McAllen <\/strong>(107), while <strong>Austin<\/strong> tied its previous daily record of 106 degrees, <a another daily record on June 13 (111 degrees).<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"timeline-timestamp\">June 16<\/span><strong>Miami<\/strong> broke a daily record high of 95 degrees, breaking a record that had stood for 12 years, while <strong>Fort Lauderdale<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncdc.noaa.gov\/cdo-web\/datatools\/records\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"color-link\" title=\"https:\/\/www.ncdc.noaa.gov\/cdo-web\/datatools\/records\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/www.ncdc.noaa.gov\/cdo-web\/datatools\/records\" aria-label=\"broke\">broken<\/a> a record daily heat (95 degrees).<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"timeline-timestamp\">June 3<\/span><strong>Cincinnati <\/strong>it broke a daily record high that had been set in 1951 (93 degrees).<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"timeline-timestamp\">June 2<\/span><strong>Hartford<\/strong> also saw a daily record (94 degrees), beating a record set in 1961 by 3 degrees and <strong>Philadelphia<\/strong> narrowly broke a 23-year record (95 degrees), while temperature records also fell in the Midwest, including in <strong>Saint Louis<\/strong> (93 degrees) and <strong>Detroit<\/strong> (90 degrees).<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"timeline-timestamp\">June 1<\/span><strong>buffalo<\/strong> set daily temperature records on consecutive days to start the month (90 degrees), while <strong>Syracuse<\/strong>New York, set a record at 91 degrees, and <strong>Fargo<\/strong>North Dakota, set a daily record at 97 degrees.<\/p>\n<p>An excessive heat advisory is in effect for Arizona, southern California and parts of Nevada, with heat advisories in effect for the south and southwest, bringing &#8220;dangerous heat conditions&#8221; and a heat index: How hot out when humidity is taken into account.  \u2014in the 120s and 130s in some areas.  Forecasters urged residents to stay hydrated in air-conditioned rooms, avoid strenuous outdoor activities and take &#8220;extra precautions&#8221; outside.<\/p>\n<p>More daily heat records.  Forecasters warn cities across the Southwest, including Phoenix, which is in the midst of an unrelenting multi-week heat wave, could continue to set records this week, while heat advisories could continue to topple daily records since California to Florida.<\/p>\n<p>Forecasters hope the early-season heatwaves are a sign of things to come as a weather phenomenon called El Ni\u00f1o develops, bringing warmer air north, and as scientists warn, the effects of change climate change from greenhouse gas emissions will continue to raise temperatures.  , prolong drought conditions and make wildfires more frequent and severe.  About 1,500 US cities and towns broke daily heat records during a 30-day period ending last September as heat waves spread across the US, as well as the UK and southern &#8216;Europe.
