DEME has successfully completed dredging works in the port of Brest, France. <\/strong><\/p>\n

For this project, the company mobilized its back suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Scheldt River and cutter suction dredger (CSD) Ganga to tackle 1 million m\u00b3 of soft sediments. <\/p>\n

The main objective of the project was to deepen the access channel and moorings of the newly built quay wall, which will play a role in accommodating the growing number of renewable energy projects<\/strong> in the region<\/p>\n

“We took an ecological approach throughout the project by reusing all the dredged material to create a new polder that is being finished for good,” said DEME. <\/p>\n

According to the company, the 10 ha polder will serve as a handling and storage area for the continued development of the port.<\/p>\n
