RANDOLPH, Mass. – A recent Brockton High School graduate has died from injuries sustained in a violent crash in Randolph that also claimed the life of his younger brother, officials announced Thursday.<\/p>\n
Officers responding to a report of an accident in the area of \u200b\u200b701 North Main Street shortly before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday found a 2011 Nissan Altima that had gone off the road and struck a tree, according to Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey. .<\/p>\n
Makhi Boston, 18, of Brockton, was taken to Boston Medical Center, where he eventually died. His younger brother, Terry Boston, Jr., 15, also of Brockton, was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
Brockton crash victims <\/span>(Left: Mahki Boston, Right: Terry Boston, Jr.)<\/p>\n Two other passengers were taken by ambulance to local hospitals for treatment.<\/p>\n Makhi was a 2023 graduate of Brockton High School and Terry was a “rising” 10th grader, a Brockton Public Schools spokesman said.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is difficult to express the deep sense of loss that is felt in our city. These were two young men whose positive influence extended far beyond the walls of our school. We will come together as a community to support their loved ones and honor their lives,\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n An investigation indicated Makhi was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash, according to the DA’s office.<\/p>\n “The Randolph Police and the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office would like to extend our sincere condolences to the parents, family and friends of these two young men,” Morrissey said in a statement.<\/p>\n Rahshaun Burkes, who coached both brothers in their younger football years, described the boys as dedicated young men from a great family with bright futures ahead of them.<\/p>\n Brockton Public Schools offers counseling and social-emotional support from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm for any student or staff member who needs help.<\/p>\n The investigation into the facts and circumstances of the accident remains open and ongoing.<\/p>\n This is a developing story.
