That\u2019s putting unprecedented stress on our fisheries. <\/p>\n<p>The UN <br \/>\nFood and Agriculture Organization indicates that already \u201c58% of the world\u2019s fish stocks are<br \/>\n being fished at or beyond sustainable levels.\u201d The reasons are many \u2013 but it boils down to<br \/>\n too many boats chasing too few fish, creating a classic \u201ctragedy of the commons.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Climate change will only exacerbate the problem \u2013 warming waters are already forcing fish <br \/>\npopulations to migrate toward cooler habitats. A recent paper in the journal \u201cScience\u201d calculates <br \/>\nthat rising seawater temperatures will leach oxygen out of the seawater at increasingly<br \/>\n dangerous levels.
