PITTSBURGH – Pittsburgh police say a man is dead after a vehicle crashed into a tree in the Strip District. Allegheny County dispatchers said police, fire and EMS were called to Frank Curto Park on Bigelow Blvd. around 4:17 p.m Medical examiners identified the victim as Lonnie J. Middleton III, 52, of Pittsburgh. A blue SUV appeared to have left the road and into the tree. The tree was knocked down as a result of the accident. Police have made an arrest in a double homicide Thursday morning at a west Phoenix hotel. Sgt. Melissa Soliz of the Phoenix Police Department confirmed Saturday morning that an arrest had been made in the fatal shootings of two unidentified men at a hotel near 48th Avenue and McDowell Road. One man is dead and another is in jail after a crash early Saturday morning on Seminole Boulevard. Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office investigators said Roger Kupsoff, 77, was traveling north on Seminole Boulevard in Seminole around 9:30 a.m. when Brent Rozic, 51, sped westbound in a pickup truck on 102nd Avenue N toward the intersection. As Rozic approached, investigators said, the light at 102nd Avenue N was red.
