The Phoenix Police Department has made an arrest in a double homicide Thursday where the suspect was on the run.

Police have made an arrest in a double homicide Thursday morning at a west Phoenix hotel.

Sgt. Melissa Soliz of the Phoenix Police Department confirmed Saturday morning that an arrest had been made in the fatal shootings of two unidentified men at a hotel near 48th Avenue and McDowell Road.

Jose Gregorio Inchaurriga Ruacho, 33, was located around 2:30 a.m. near 27th Avenue and Thomas Road and taken into custody, police said. One of the victims has been identified by police as 64-year-old Douglas Earl Emison. The identity of the second victim was pending, police said.

Phoenix police officers had found both victims with gunshot wounds at the hotel after receiving reports at 9:15 a.m. of shots fired, according to prior information from the department.

Police previously said both shooting victims died from their injuries. It was unclear whether the men died at the scene or were taken to hospital.

The suspect, whose image from surveillance video was shared by police after the shooting, left the scene in a blue 2004 Dodge Ram truck.

No other details about the case were provided. As of Saturday afternoon, the Maricopa County Jail did not have Ruacho in custody.
