CNN — Millions of people in Louisiana and Oregon have had their data compromised in the cyber attack that has also hit the US federal government, state agencies said late Thursday. The breach has affected 3.5 million Oregonians with driver’s licenses or state identification cards, and anyone with such documentation in Louisiana, authorities said. The Tuscaloosa County Violent Crimes Unit has arrested 41-year-old Dustin Jermaine Lavender. Lavender is charged with attempted murder, receiving stolen property and prohibited from carrying firearms to a certain person (felon in possession of a gun). Tuscaloosa Police were called to the 3200 block of Stillman Blvd shortly after 3pm to respond to a shooting. One of Plant Vogtle’s new nuclear units is delayed again
Completion of one of two new nuclear units at Plant Vogtle is being delayed again, Georgia Power announced Friday afternoon. The latest mishap is due to a “degraded hydrogen seal” on the side of the unit’s generator, not the reactor where uranium atoms are split to produce heat. The resolution of the issue will push forward the expected date of operation of Unit 3 to July. Georgia Power’s most recent estimate was for the unit to enter service this month.
